Mission Area

Additional Mission Applications

Flexible mission paths for government sensors, software, communications payloads, and mission applications that need access to orbit without starting from a blank spacecraft program.

How Loft Federal Supports

Flexible paths from mission need to orbital capability.

Not every government mission fits neatly into a standard mission category. Loft Federal supports hosted payloads, software mission applications, and tailored mission models that allow government customers and mission partners to place sensors, software, communications payloads, and mission applications on proven commercial space infrastructure.

  • Hosted payloads Integrate government or partner payloads onto Loft spacecraft infrastructure using standardized payload accommodation, interface definition, and mission integration processes.
  • Software mission applications Deploy mission software, autonomy, edge processing, and data handling applications that turn orbital infrastructure into mission specific capability.
  • Mission SEIT Support mission definition, interface development, payload integration, test planning, and operational readiness across payload, spacecraft, ground, and user segments.
  • Flexible mission models Support experiments, demonstrations, operational prototypes, and tailored mission architectures without requiring a fully new spacecraft program.
  • Mission operations support Provide mission planning, payload operations, data flow coordination, and operational support models aligned to the customer’s mission concept.
  • Mission heritage Build on YAM and YAC mission families across RF, imaging, IoT, thermal infrared, multispectral, commercial, civil, and national security use cases, with SAR capability under development where approved for public release.
